Florida’s Singing Sons Boychoir’s annual auditions for new Training Choir members will be held Saturday, September 16 from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 30 from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Additional dates are available upon request. Auditions are held at Boychoir headquarters located at 1229 N.E. 37 Street, Ft. Lauderdale, 33334. To be eligible, boys must be at least 8 years old or in the 3rd grade, but need not have any prior musical experience.

Nicholas Moore of Bloomington, Indiana, is the winner of the fifth annual Wergle Flomp Humor Poetry Contest, one of today's largest competitions for humor poetry. Winning Writers sponsors this contest to call attention to "vanity contest" schemes. Vanity contests have the appearance of selectivity but are actually marketing devices to sell products to unsuspecting poets. They will often praise even the most awful work to increase sales of anthologies, conferences and personalized items.
