New York Indie Mainstay DJ Mojo Joins BreakThru Radio With "Maximum Music" - Bringing Community
BreakThru Radio (BTR), the Internet's voice of the World's Best Independent Music, announced today that DJ Mojo will join the staff with his weekly show "Maximum Music." A force in the independent music scene for over four decades, BTR is thrilled to have his exquisite taste and expertise on air for its 5 million + listeners.
DJ Mojo has spent the majority of his life in Brooklyn, NY heavily inundated in the local music scene. He has worked the doors of many of the city's hottest venues, and written for such publications as Spin and Slash. Mojo took part in a number of bands himself, but has found joy and satisfaction in radio. "Maximum Music," will air every Tuesday on BreakThru Radio featuring a wide array of music as eclectic and impressive as DJ Mojo himself.
"Basically I am featuring not only local acts but little known indie bands from all over the US and the world," said DJ Mojo. "My entire focus is to bring community back to the local music scene in general, I have been involved with music in NYC for close to 30 years, and look forward to bringing that knowledge to BreakThru Radio."
Mojo has found friendships with some of the musical greats such as Bowie and Iggy Pop, and the Beastie Boys even wrote a song about him. After running a successful show at Columbia University's WKCR, Mojo now books bands and DJs regularly at Trash Bar in Williamsburg. Always on the lookout for new bands, "Maximum Music" will undoubtedly impress listeners on a weekly basis. Tune into BreakThru Radio for his debut on Tuesday January 23 to hear the likes of Proton Proton, Levy, Kinetic, Emok and more.
