A World Love Survey? Internet Expert Seeks Answers To What Love Is...

While many scramble for the greeting card that truly captures the perfect sentiment for Valentine’s Day an Austin man and slightly perplexed husband has his hand on the world’s pulse in hopes of finally answering, “What is love?”

As Perrine shared, “I was inspired by a beautiful card my wife hand-painted and wanted to write her a poem. As I pondered the meaning of love for one of the verses I remembered a book called The Wisdom of Crowds, by James Surowiecki.”

The book convincingly advocates that large groups of people can miraculously supply very accurate answers. Perrine added, “That’s when I decided to use the power of the Internet to literally ask the world what love is and compile the responses using sophisticated database technology.”

When asked directly, most would have some answer to Mr. Perrine’s Valentine’s Day-inspired inquiry. A quick search of “what is love” on itunes returning over 150 songs.

Perrine also revealed another reason for taking his love quiz to the world. “On a day when chocolate and greeting card sales go through the roof, bombs are falling elsewhere around the globe and frightening headlines often dominate world news. It seems now more than ever we all could benefit from knowing the true meaning of the word ... love.”

Utilizing sophisticated database technology as part of his role as an Internet expert, Mr. Perrine will publish the answer to “What Love Is” once responses to his love quiz have been tabulated from around the world.

Perrine encourages anyone of any age to take the love quiz. Respondents will be added to a special notification list alerting respondents when survey results are published. The survey, and an image of the Valentine’s Card that inspired the survey, can be viewed at http://www.worldlovesurvey.com
Several online newsletters have publicized the love quiz. Mr. Perrine hopes to make world news of a more inspirational kind when he has the answer in hand.
