Southwest Airlines Offers Hot Savings Across the Nation; Winter Internet-Only Fares on Sale
Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) offers hot savings across the nation with Internet-only, 14-day advance-purchase fares. Fares range from $39 to $149 one-way and vary by destination and day of travel. "We are offering systemwide savings to our Customers across the nation and highlighting additional savings to select destinations," said Joyce Rogge, Southwest Airlines' Senior Vice President of Marketing. "We know holiday travel is important to our Customers, and we want them to get home to visit with family or enjoy a winter getaway without breaking the bank."
The following are examples of the special systemwide fares:
* $34 one-way fares are available between Buffalo and Chicago Midway, between Pittsburgh and Chicago Midway, and between Hartford and Philadelphia.
* $39 one-way fares are available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, and $44 one-way fares are available Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays between Baltimore/Washington and Manchester, between Las Vegas and Phoenix, and between Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood and Orlando.
* $79 one-way fares are available between San Antonio and Chicago Midway, between Los Angeles and Reno/Lake Tahoe, and between Baltimore/Washington and Tampa Bay.
* $99 one-way fares are available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, and $149 one-way fares are available Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays between Austin and Orlando, between Chicago Midway and Spokane, between Kansas City and Salt Lake City.
* $109 one-way fares are available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays and $149 one-way fares of $149 are available Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays between Albuquerque and Chicago Midway, between El Paso and San Jose, and between Albany and Las Vegas.

*Fare Rules
The fares are available for purchase through Oct. 3, 2005, and are valid for travel from Oct. 7, 2005, through the end of Southwest Airlines' published schedule (currently Jan. 9, 2006). Tickets must be purchased at least 14 days before departure. Fares are available one-way and are combinable with all other fares. When combining fares, all ticketing restrictions apply. Seats are limited. Fares may vary by flight and day of week and will not be available on some flights that operate during very busy travel times. Fares do not include a $3.20 federal segment tax per takeoff and landing. Fares do not include airport-assessed passenger facility charges (PFC) of up to $9 one-way and U.S. government-imposed September 11th Security Fees of up to $5 one-way. Fares are subject to change until ticketed. Tickets are nonrefundable but, if unused, may be applied toward the purchase of future travel on Southwest Airlines. Fares are valid on published, scheduled service only and are not available through the Group Desk. Some flights may be operated by ATA Airlines. Any change in itinerary may result in an increase in fare. Fares are not necessarily common rated in the Bay Area or the Los Angeles Basin. Orange County's John Wayne Airport is not included in this sale.
Southwest Airlines now makes online check-in available 24 hours in advance of travel. No more waking up at midnight to get a boarding pass online. By logging on to southwest.com within 24 hours of travel, Customers may print out their boarding pass and head straight to the airport.
