Metaboli Signs Agreement with Microsoft for the Distribution of their PC Games Catalogue

Paris, France  May 20, 2005 -- Many distinguished PC games including Rise of Nations®, Dungeon Siege®, Age of Empires® II and Zoo Tycoon® will soon be available for legal download in Europe via the games on demand service developed by Metaboli, www.metaboli.com.

Metaboli is a French company whose offers are today becoming a reference all over Europe. The game sites that Metaboli develop allow users to download games (normally bought on CDRoms) over a high speed internet connection. Metaboli offers online subscriptions comparable to satellite TV bundles: after paying a monthly subscription, the user has unlimited access to a large catalogue of PC games, which he can then download and play at will.

Already working on the Janus project, their latest version of their DRM software which allows rights management for temporary files, Microsoft's signing with Metaboli encourages the development of digital media subscription services that respond to the quality, the diversity and the simplicity demanded by the high-speed-internet community trying to make the move towards legal download services.

Interest in the development of services like those offered by Metaboli stems from the games industry's wish to reduce peer to peer piracy and their desire to create new distribution methods that maximize not only the consumption of PC games but also the revenue generated by them.

This agreement follows the prediction of many market analysts, that the future of online distribution of media (that is music, video and especially games which, alone amongst digital media, already has a strong link to PCs and the internet) lies in the subscription to unlimited access offers. A good example of the success of subscription offers can be seen in the world of music, where Napster's unlimited access offer (unlimited access to a catalogue of more than 700 000 titles for a monthly price of €9.90) gets more subscribers every day.

About Metaboli:
Formed in 2001 by a group of PC gamers specialized in high speed internet connections, Metaboli offers via download and by subscription, the most attractive games catalogue in the world with games from Atari, Dreamcatcher, Eidos, Sega, THQ and UbiSoft. This agreement with Microsoft consolidates Metaboli's position as the leader in this market.

Metaboli distributes its service via Internet Service Providers and large Internet Sites for whom Metaboli creates co-branded gateway-sites like, for example
http://jeuxvideo.wanadoo.fr for Wanadoo France. The service is distributed in the same way by AOL France, Club-Internet (T-Online France), Noos, Tele2, NC-Numéricâble Gamekult.com, Clubic.com, GameOne, Allocine.com (and, of course, by Wanadoo France).

The Metaboli service is also distributed on
www.metaboli.com.
