New Website Reveals Your Reputation to Others...Whether Good or Bad
December 10, 2004 -- Described by industry experts as the “juiciest site to hit the web in years”, GuessWhatiHeard.com allows people to talk about their ex-friends, flames, business associates, and classmates. In turn, this information can then be used by others when considering whether or not to date, befriend, or do business with these very people.
Kelly Felix, founder of GuessWhatiHeard.com, says he created the site after hearing from many people that most so-called “social networking” websites such as Friendster and MySpace are just plain boring, and that finding out what other people think of you and others is not only fun, but very useful.
Felix says, “Not only can you see what people have said about each other, but you can also use the information to find a compatible date or friend.” GuessWhatiHeard.com enables users to see a visual display of people they know, as well as people they don’t know. Each display features a rating of that person in several different categories such as friendship, dating, business, etc., all based on reviews and rankings by people who know them. Anyone who has comments written about them can also choose to “defend themselves”.
GuessWhatiHeard.com launched on November 30, 2004 and already has several thousand members based on word of mouth. “It's a really fun way to not only see who's saying what about who, but also to meet new people.”, says Jason Layden, student at Santa Monica College.
