Bharosa v.Crypt™ is First Web-Based Solution to Offer Comprehensive Protection Against Phishing
Santa Clara, CA October 11, 2004 -- Bharosa, Inc. announces v.Crypt™, an online identity protection solution that protects online user data by changing the very nature of the way users submit sensitive information over the Internet.
Bharosa v.Crypt™ users enter and submit passwords or other sensitive information using an online image that is unrecognizable in actual image form as well as data output form. The Bharosa™-enabled web site generates a graphic of two concentric wheels representing a v.Crypt™ at the point of entry. To enter data, a user simply guides reference points on the inner wheel to password characters on the outer wheel. Reference points are selected by and known only to the user, making the image indiscernible to outsiders. Displacement of the wheel measured in degrees is subsequently sent to and decoded by the Bharosa™-enabled server. Displacement coordinates are session-specific and unusable once the session ends.

In contrast to current anti-virus and anti-spyware applications that merely aid in removing or quarantining rogue applications, Bharosa’s v.Crypt™ solution changes the way user data is entered and interpreted. Hence, v.Crypt™ offers comprehensive protection against all forms of current and future attacks from viruses or spyware programs that are inadvertently downloaded to the consumers’ computers. This solution makes Keylogging and Data Sniffing programs obsolete, and also prevents unauthorized Phishing including identity theft.
