Netriplex Adds Phishing Detection to its Anti-Spam Solution
Netriplex (http://www.netriplex.com) announced today that as a result of the exponential increase in phishing and spoofing via email, it has implemented anti-fraud technology into its spam filtering service. The addition of this technology effectively stops fraudulent attempts at grabbing user names, passwords and other sensitive information from recipients of this type of email.

Phishing or Spoofing is a serious problem because it entices users to submit private information to an untrustworthy source. In a recent Gartner survey of 5000 U.S. adults, they estimate that 1.98 million people have experienced this type of crime in the last year resulting in approximately $2.4 billion in losses.

AOL, Citibank, Paypal, eBay and others have all been victims of these scams in the past. "Not only does phishing create the opportunity for financial loss, but it damages the reputation and brand of the business under attack and lowers consumer confidence in e-commerce altogether," said Hoppe.
